Q: What type of software were you using to manage your property?
A: We had up to 8 years ago been using pen and paper. The business was a lot smaller back then. We started using some really basic installable software about 7 years ago but as the business grew busier that software just didn't cut it. We still had to manually add, cancel and alter all of our bookings.
Q: What made you look for a new hotel management system? What problems were you trying to solve? What results did you want to achieve?
A: We needed a system that comprised a channel manager and a PMS. We wanted to try to eliminate most of the human error involved in data input of the large volumes of bookings we were now getting. We were tired of double bookings and needed a system that we could trust our availability with. We also wanted to eliminate pointless printing out of bookings every time something changed. We wanted a system that linked to our online channels and did almost all of these things automatically. Another aspect we wanted was the increased data protection which has even improved in Clock further since we signed up.
Q: Why did you choose Clock PMS?
A: One of the main reasons we chose Clock was the Guest mailer. We didn’t see such a flexible and well-made tool for automatically mailing guests in any of the other systems we looked at.
Q: What has changed for you/your business since you started using Clock PMS?
A: So much has changed! We've saved at least the hours of 1 full-time member of the staff just by removing most of the manual data entry involved in the day-to-day bookings, alterations and cancellations. We barely ever get a double booking now. We waste hardly any paper now whereas before we were going through a small forest in booking changes, etc. Using the Guest Mailer, we can now send a lot of helpful info out before arrival about travel and booking meals with us as well as up-sell our activities in advance. The system is totally mobile and I can literally control and view every aspect of bookings using my mobile phone!
